Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A plane transporting Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the jet's front window, according to an announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The plane landed in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This event is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was compelled to turn back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical fault.
