Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
